Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Day Activities for Children, Youth, and Families
At Home Service Opportunities, Prayers, and Devotions
Do you have a favorite MLK children’s book, or a book addressing themes of diversity, inclusion, or racism? We invite you to record a clip of you and your kids reading the selection, and add it to our growing video library. The first three stories are in production as you read this!
Join us on Monday, 1/18/21 at 3:30 PM. Email Anthony (anthony@overbrookpresb.org) for access.
Our brief, accessible storytelling circle will be led by Sabrina Johnson and Anthony Carrella as they read The Youngest Marcher: The Story of Audrey Faye Hendricks, a Young Civil Rights Activist by Cynthia Levinson. After the story, children are invited to create a bookmark craft along with us while we wonder and discuss the story together. Before departing, we’ll orient your family to our growing video library and resources before closing with a group prayer and blessing.
