The Retired Persons' Ministry welcomes all members and friends of OPC and St. Thomas to participate in this summer's Camp RPM, a Vacation Bible School for "seasoned believers." Camp participants will begin the day at OPC with devotions and an introductory message, and then travel to a designated historic site for an interactive exploration.
Each session will include light morning refreshments and a picnic lunch. For more information and registration contact Sharon Parker. There is no cost to participate in this special adult ministry.

Mission & Outreach

As a community of faith, we are sent by God into a broken world to work for its healing and reconciliation. The church exists for mission. It’s woven into everything that we do.

Faith into Action

We regularly put our faith into action and help meet the needs of our community and our world by participating in hands-on service projects like preparing meals for homeless shelters, volunteering at Books through Bars, creating the t-shirt Memorial to the Lost with Heeding God's Call, or joining together each year with our neighbors in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service in West Philly.

Women’s Dining Circle

Throughout the year, the women of Overbrook are invited to come together for a meal in someone’s home. Each meal is a fundraiser designated for a particular non-profit organization. Recent organizations include the Opioid Crisis Action Network (OCAN), Kids Against Hunger United and the New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia. Women contribute whatever they would pay for the cost of a meal in a restaurant, and the money is matched by funds from the church’s Mission & Outreach budget. It’s a great way to do good, while also having a good time and meeting new people. If you'd like to be added to the WDC e-vite list, email Carol.

Fair Trade Market

Note: Due to our relocation from the fire, there will be no 2024 Fair Trade Market.

Every year in early December, Overbrook sponsors a two-day Fair Trade Market that is open to the whole community and features fantastic fair-trade crafts, food, and gifts from around the world, produced by local artists and artisans. Among our suppliers are Ten Thousand Villages, Equal Exchange, Global Crafts, Women's Bean Project, and many more. Every dollar spent at the Fair Trade Market helps guarantee a living wage for people in developing countries.

Mission & Outreach Budget

Each year, ten percent of the congregation’s annual giving budget is dedicated to Mission & Outreach. Among the many agencies and projects that we have supported financially are Broad Street Ministry in Center City, ManUpPHL, and the worldwide mission of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
